Henry Davies Acknowledged for his contribution to crane conservation in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa

Yesterday, I attended the KZN Crane Foundation’s (KZNCF) 22nd Annual General Meeting and I enjoyed giving a talk to the members and committee of the KZNCF.  Serving for the second time, Henry Davies has been the chairman of the KZNCF for the past four years and has really been the glue that has kept the foundation active in the province.  For more than 20 years though, Henry has been actively involved in Crane conservation efforts in KwaZulu-Natal and has often been at the forefront of these efforts.  Yesterday,  Henry’s term as chairman came to an end and he handed over the chairman’s reigns to Kevin McCann a.k.a McCrane!  The EWT’s African Crane Conservation programme awarded Henry with a Certificate of Appreciation for his significant contribution to the protection and persistance of cranes in KwaZulu-Natal.  Thankfully for the cranes, Henry will still be a very active member of the KZNCF committee, as he is a self-professed ‘lifer’, working towards a future where the persistance of cranes is never in question.

Thank you Henry for all you have given to the Cranes and community in KwaZulu-Natal.
